What’s difference between brown fused alumina P sand and F sand?
Different uses:
P sand is mainly used for coating abrasives, such as sandpaper, emery cloth, etc., while F sand is mainly used for bonded abrasives, such as ceramic grinding wheels, resin grinding wheels, etc.
Different production processes:
The production process of P sand is relatively complex. Usually, two processes of screening and washing are added on the basis of F sand, and high-temperature calcination is not required.
Different performance:
P sand has a pointed shape, low bulk density, good self-sharpening, strong grinding ability, and is suitable for high-grade coated abrasive products. The production process of F sand focuses on bulk density and strength. It is usually produced by ball mills or Barmac and is used in the production of bonded abrasives. It requires rounder particles and high bulk density to extend the service life of the grinding wheel.
